EQ or Emotional Quotient is the ability, capacity, skill, to manage or control the emotions of one’s self. IQ or Intelligence Quotient on the other hand measures concepts like logical reasoning, word knowledge and math skills. People often debate these two words, which of those two will lead a person to become successful.
Every person that is born has both EQ and IQ. One is always dominant over the other, this means that if a person has a high IQ that person has an average EQ and vice versa. A person with a high Intelligence Quotient is often good in academics. They excel in logical reasoning; on how to solve a problem using every logical way the person might think of or reasoning with other people. They also excel in math, solving difficult mathematical problems with ease.
The main strength of IQ tests is the ability to provide a rough estimate of the raw intellectual ability of a test taker. The results of tests can be used to estimate future performance of test takers, but IQ tests are limited in scope and therefore are not always good predictors of academic or job performance.
IQ tests often contain logical word problems or problems involving shapes and numbers, but such problems may not necessarily form an accurate picture of intelligence. For instance, a person with a very high IQ score may have no talent for music, while another person with an average IQ score may be musically gifted. A math whiz with a high IQ might be terrible at creative writing, while a person who is poor in math and has an average IQ might be creatively gifted.
On the other hand a person with high Emotional Quotient is able to handle emotions. A person with high Emotional Quotient often has the ability to cope with their surroundings. They can manage themselves, they have full control over their emotions; this means that whenever that person is in an emotional situation he/she can fully adapt into it. They don’t excel much in academics, People with high EQ usually uses their skills or ability to take good care of them in academics.
People with high Emotional Quotients have the following attributes: Self Control, being to manage disruptive emotions and impulses effectively. They are Trustworthy; they are able to display honesty and integrity. Conscientiousness, they are Dependable and responsible in fulfilling obligations. And innovation, they are open to novel ideas, approaches, and new information.
